1 head of Cabbage, medium, shredded
1 yellow onion, diced
½ pound bacon, fried crispy, save the grease
2 tsp Garlic, minced
½ tsp Garlic Powder
½ tsp Onion Powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp Black Pepper

2. Save the bacon grease
3. Transfer the bacon grease to a deep sided skillet or pot
4. Add the diced onion until it is translucent
5. Add the minced garlic to the pan and saute for about 30 seconds
6. Reduce the heat to a low medium and add the cabbage to the pot
7. Stir to combine the onions and cabbage, cover and simmer until the cabbage has softened
8. Add the Onion Powder and the Garlic Powder, salt and pepper and stir to combine the flavors
9. Saute for another 3 minutes
10. Crumble the bacon and add to the top of the cabbage
11. Serve and enjoy!

Notes
Can I leave the bacon out?
Well, leaving the bacon out would mean that you would have to use another type of fat to saute the vegetables in. It would also eliminate the savory aspect of the bacon. If you wanted, you could try a switch with Turkey bacon. I have never tried that myself, so I cannot say how well it works.
